Introducing COG Threads

A Non-Surgical Face-Lift and Wrinkle Treatment

COG Threads are one of the largest and most affordable Polydioxanone (PDO) Thread Ranges in Australia, used to achieve the technique of ‘Thread-Lifting’.

Our Range includes Rejuvenating, Volumising, Lifting and Delicate Threads.

Polydioxanone (PDO)

Polydioxanone was originally developed a suture for wound closure material within surgery. The innovative method of using PDO suture material as a Face-Lifting method was pioneered by a team of Korean Physicians, and is now a preferred material for Thread-Lifting; this due to its high tensile strength, relatively low complications rate, and ability to be moulded into a variety of shapes.

Using a non-incision method via a needle or cannula, the PDO COG Threads procedure is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional Face-Lifting procedures.

COG Threads Design

PREMIUM DESIGN

COG Threads are a bio-degradable, polydioxanone (PDO) suture, used to achieve the technique of ‘Thread-Lifting’.

Using a non-incision method via a needle or cannula, the Bio-Threads procedure is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional Face-Lifting procedures.

Benefits of COG Threads

NON-SURGICAL FACE-LIFT & WRINKLE TREATMENT

COG Threads are used for the lifting of soft, sagging facial tissue. They are also are used for skin rejuvenation and wrinkle treatment.  Once inserted, COG Threads will be absorbed by the body over time, typically around 6 to 8 months. Due to increased collagen production, results can up to 12 to 24 months. As the suture absorbs in the body, it promotes the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Using a non-incision method via a needle or cannula, the COG Threads procedure is minimally invasive and generally has a fast recovery time.

What To Expect

Pre-Treatment

• Inform your Practitioner if you have a history of medication allergies, history of anaphylaxis, and any other medical problems (e.g. pregnancy, diabetes, immune deficiency disorders, cancer, HIV etc).

• Inform your Practitioner of any medication that you are currently taking.

• Avoid consuming Aspirin, Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba, Fish Oil, Garlic pills, or other anti-inflammatory medications for 1-2 weeks prior, as they can increase the risk of bruising. Only stop taking these medications if approved by your primary Physician.

• Limit consuming alcohol or smoking for at least a week prior to the procedure.

During Treatment

• A topical numbing cream will be placed in a thick layer, at the insertion site, 30 to 60 mins prior to the procedure. This is to reduce discomfort caused by insertion of Threads and/or the local anaesthetic injection (if required).

• Some Thread-Lifting Procedures (Lift, Volume and Delicate PDO Bio-Threads) are performed under local anaesthetic, to limit any discomfort. Fasting is not required, however a light breakfast is recommended. Most patients report a mild to moderate stinging sensation with local anaesthetic injections. It is important to discuss any sensitivity or allergy to Lidocaine, Novocaine, or Epinephrine with your Practitioner prior to treatment.

• The procedure should take roughly 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the number of sutures used.

• Following the procedure, a dressing and topical treatment may be applied to face. In some cases, a PDO Bio-Threads Compression Face Sling may be supplied for you to wear.

Post-Treatment

✓ If you have been provided with PDO Bio-Threads Compression Face Sling, wear it consistently for 48-72 hours immediately following the procedure. Continue to wear the sling at night for 1-2 weeks. This helps to keep the Threads in place and reduce swelling following the procedure.

✓ Keep the dressing and area of insertion dry for at least 24-48 hours, or as recommended.

✓ Place a cold compact (covered in towel) on the area for 5 to 10 minutes, every hour, to reduce pain and swelling. Continue this for the 24 hours following the procedure, if required.

✓ Take prescribed antibiotics and any other medication (e.g Ibuprofen or Paracetamol) as prescribed by your Physician, if required.

✕ DO NOT operate heavy equipment for the day following the procedure. It is sometimes recommended that patients do not drive following the procedure.

✕ DO NOT massage areas where the Threads are placed unless instructed.

✕ DO NOT engage in vigorous physical activity for at least 48 hours following the procedure, or as recommended by your Practitioner.

✕ AVOID placing any direct pressure to the face and area where the sutures were placed, immediately following the procedure. For Lift PDO Bio-Threads, avoid this for up to 2-3 weeks following the procedure. For example, avoid sleeping on your face.

✕ DO NOT use potentially contaminating facial cosmetics, hair products and dyes until the entry points (areas where the Threads were inserted) have healed, or as recommended.

✕ AVOID excessive heat (e.g. hot showers, saunas, laser procedures, excessive time outside etc) for at least 3 weeks.

✕ For Lift PDO Bio-Threads, DO NOT perform excessive mouth-opening movements for 2 weeks following the procedure, as they can put excessive strain on Lifting Threads. For example, avoid flossing, yawning, shouting, smiling etc., and stay on a soft diet if necessary.

✕ DO NOT undergo dental procedures for at least 3-4 weeks, or as recommended.
