There are two types of cleanser - detergents and solvents. Detergents foam up and strap the skin of vital lipids, leading to irritation. They are best avoided. Solvents, on the other hand, only remove surface debris, without damaging the skin's delicate protective layer.
Preparatory Cleanser is a solvent-based cleanser. It emulsifies particles of dirt and make-up, whisking them away when water is added. Solvents are very gentle to the skin, and because they do not remove skin lipids, they do not cause irritation.
INSTRUCTIONS
Wet face with warm water. Other cleanser between hands. Gently massage over face and neck. Rinse with tepid water. Pat dry.
